Following the recent news of actress Shilpa Shirodkar contracting COVID-19, Bollywood and television star Nikita Dutta, known for her roles in Jewel Thief and Kabir Singh, has also confirmed that she and her mother have tested positive for the virus. The actress shared the update with her fans via Instagram.
In her Instagram story, Nikita wrote, “Covid has decided to pay my mom and me a visit. Hopefully, this uninvited guest won’t stay long. See you after this short quarantine. Everyone, please stay safe.” She further mentioned that she has isolated herself and is currently recovering at home with mild symptoms.
Nikita, who transitioned from television to films, has now put all her professional commitments on hold and will resume work only after recovering completely. Her announcement has added to growing concerns about the sudden rise in COVID-19 cases in India, which is once again creating an atmosphere of caution among the public.
Earlier, actress Shilpa Shirodkar had also revealed her diagnosis and urged people to wear masks and take precautions. However, she has since recovered and recently updated fans with a positive health update, saying she is now feeling well. Along with her message, she also shared a scenic picture of the Worli Sea Link from Bandra, Mumbai.
